There is an element of truth in the saying that “the more you read, the more you will know and the more places you will go”. Reading takes you to a place even when you physically have to stay in the same location. A good book expands your mind, widens your horizon, gives you a sense of purpose and enlarges your world. A good book is a dream you hold in your hand. For those who prefer audio books, you can find access to hundreds of them via this link Try Audible and Get Two Free Audiobooks. I particularly find this very helpful when I drive or work out.
Do you desire to know more and go places you never imagined? Get a good book today that inspires you to go after your dreams and achieve your life’s goal. In addition to the earlier blog on a similar topic, here are other good books I recommend you read.
As a Man Thinketh – James Allen
This book is rooted in the philosophy that you are what you think and that we become what we believe or allow our thoughts to dwell on most of the time. It’s message is simple but very profound.
The power of Positive Thinking – Norman Vincent Peale
One of the very first books I read on the subject of personal development, and which practically got me energized and provided the impetus to strive for greater sense of purpose and fulfillment in life.
By demonstrating the power of faith, this book will help you achieve a happy, satisfying, and worthwhile life.
Principles: Life and Work – Ray Dalio
I bought a copy of this book two weeks ago while on vacation in Houston and I can easily see why it has got the rave reviews it has. While stressing the power of individuality and personal goals, the author teaches the value of principle-based living in all spheres of life. Ray draws from his own story to share time-tested principles which if applied in our different circumstances will lead to ultimate success.
Awaken The Giant Within – Tony Robbins
Another must-read and must-have book for me. In this book, Tony Robbins teaches you how to master four critical aspects of your life to ensure maximum success. These areas include your emotional, financial, mental and physical aspects of your life. With a lot of action exercises, you are guided through proven steps you can take to change your life in any direction.
Lastly, the important part of this is not what you learn from these books, but what you do with them. Don’t reinvent the wheels. The keys or principles to the success you desire have been carefully wrapped in books by men and women who have succeeded. Why not get one of these books today and begin to learn what others have done to get to where you want to go. It’s the shortest distance to success, because you learn to avoid the same mistakes they made and practise principles they applied. Best of luck in your quest to succeed.
Thank you so much Austin. Books are a fulfilment of the saying that- to see farther than your contemporaries, stand on the shoulder of giants.
