All things are created twice. First there is the mental and then the physical creation.Come to think of it, every action or word of ours are created twice. We first think about it in our minds, then we say it or do it.
Everything we see today started as a thought. The aircraft, shoes, clothes, computers, the mobile phone you are holding in your hands right hand, pen, paper, anything you can think of, all started with a thought in someone’s mind. Whether we realize it or not, our life today, is a sum total of all the thoughts and choices we have made till now. If you are not satisfied with the things you see in your life right, there is one place to look – the man or woman in the mirror. You might blame the government, the economy, your employees, neighbours, family background or your relatives, but the real problem is you – how you think. Someone once said that the issue is not the problem, but how we look at the problem. So if you desire to create a new future, it has to start with what you think. Proverbs 4:23 says “Be careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts” (GNB). The future you want to create also starts from the thoughts you think and process in your mind. Change your thoughts, change your life.
What do I do to change my life? First, you must realize that your thoughts play a major role in who or what you become. If you think you can or think you can’t, you are correct. When God created the world, He already “saw” the world in His mind’s eye and just spoke it into existence. We as humans, made in the same image and likeness of God, also have the same creative abilities and we see evidences of this all around us today. Everything begins with a thought. So you need to begin from today to pay attention to what you think about most of the time. What are the dominating thoughts in your mind? What do you dwell on most time of the day?
Next, whatever you focus your thoughts on expands. Whatever you focus on expands. The more you think about a thing, the more it expands and ultimately becomes a reality. Have you noticed how you suddenly begin to see everywhere you go, a red Toyota saloon car you have been fantasizing about for sometime. Nature has a way of attracting to yourself the things you think about often. There is a magnetic force that is inherent in our thoughts that suddenly begins to pull all the resources, persons or contacts we need when we start focusing on a particular object. Thoughts have a way of creating reality. I recall several years ago while I was walking with my cousin at night through a bush path in the village, I suddenly saw what appeared like a monstrous object along the way and this caused a lot of fear and panic. In reality, it was actually my thoughts and imagination that created the false reality of a monster, while in the real sense, it was just several branches of a tree tangled together. Our thoughts can make us scared, sick, fearful, weak or even defeated.
The good news is that we actually have the power to choose what we think, and if we do, then we can actually change our lives and our outcomes.
