THOUGHTS ARE THINGS (2) – 5 Things you should know

Everything we see around us today started as a thought in someone’s mind. Think about the airplane, bicycle, pen, shoes, clothes and the phone or computer in front of you now, it all began as an idea in someone’s mind.

In essence, everything is created twice. Steve Covey calls them mental and physical creations. I will like to share today, 5 things you need to know about thoughts.

1. Thoughts create our reality. Whatever you think about consistently will eventually show up in your life. In essence, every thought we think is creating our reality. If you repeatedly think about a thing, it will develop into a belief system, which will in turn impact on your thoughts, influence your actions and ultimately manifest in your life.

2. We can change our lives by changing our thoughts. By altering a belief we have about something in our lives, we can change reality. You can give up your self-limiting thoughts and beliefs. You can rewrite the agreement you have with reality, by admitting that you have made choices that didn’t work and taking necessary steps to take a new course of action, starting with your thoughts.

3. Whatever you focus on expands. You must have realized that each time you start thinking about a particular thing, you start noticing it everywhere. If you want good health, good grades, promotion, more financial freedom and wealth start thinking and talking about it, instead of all the wrong and negatives things in your life.

4. You have the power to choose what you think. It has been said that the greatest power a person has is the power to choose and determine which direction he wants his life to go. If thoughts are the starting point to creating our reality, then each of us can begin from where we are now to re-create our world, starting from our thoughts.

5. Whatever we believe determines what we make true. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.  If you are what you think about, then you have to be careful about what you think about.  Make a conscious effort not to think or talk about what is missing or what is negative in your life.What do you think?
